"social media"- free environment
Here's the deal... we're all bloggers. We 'get' social media. It's a useful tool. We're tired of hearing about it.
Don't tell us how great blogging is, or how you're using it. Yes you are correct, but no, you are not innovative, insightful, or interesting.
Maybe this is a bit harsh, and we don't mean to offend, but there are plenty of social media conferences. The ad-hoc conference space is overrun by self-important bloggers who'd rather hold cocktails and take macro pictures of each other's gadgets than get gritty in the gears (and per Eric's preferences, with cocktail in hand). It's Ok, we do it too, but there's more to the world.
Perhaps your technology involves social media -- it's a legitimate substrate, and talking about social media isn't 'forbidden'. But know the bar will be held high, and we will walk away from your crap talk with no hesitation or remorse. Even worse, we wont link to you, tweet about your bad product idea, stick your sticker on our laptop, or invite you to the afterparty.

To be precise Todd, I'd rather get gritty in the gears WHILE holding a cocktail.
